Hi, I’m Deb Martin, and I bring over 15 years of hands-on experience in the towing and recovery field. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to lead complex recovery operations, manage diverse teams, and ensure each job is completed safely and efficiently—even under pressure. My leadership style is built on clear communication, smart delegation, and creating a work culture where everyone feels respected and motivated to do their best.
I’ve always been comfortable in fast-moving and challenging environments. I’m WreckMaster certified and have worked on some of the most intricate recovery scenarios, including air cushion recovery operations. My experience as a Hazmat Spill Coordinator has also helped me develop a quick, safety-first approach when dealing with hazardous materials—making sure both my team and the environment are protected.
My time with Caledon Fire Services further sharpened my crisis management and emergency response skills. Fire suppression, rescue work, and coordinating emergency scenes gave me a strong foundation in situational awareness and decision-making under pressure. Whether I’m managing a complex vehicle recovery or responding to an emergency call, I approach every situation with calm focus and strategic thinking.
I also have experience as an administrative assistant, which helped me build strong organizational skills and the ability to handle administrative tasks with care and attention to detail—an important part of keeping operations running smoothly.
Beyond my professional life, I’ve remained committed to safety and wellness through ongoing education focused on health, safety, and spiritual well-being. I’ve also dedicated time to volunteer work, something I’m especially proud of. I’ve volunteered for the Canadian Diabetes Association, presenting public health campaigns, and served with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services, where I took part in firefighter training, fire prevention, and worker safety courses. I’m also the President of the Bolton Volunteer Firefighter Association and a First Aid/CPR instructor for Station 302 in Bolton.
I hold a Hazardous Materials Technician Certification and have worked as a Hazmat Spill Coordinator for Diamond Emergency Services, Diamond Towing and Float Services, and Chatham Towing Services.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying time with my family and my dog. I love being outdoors—hiking, camping, and more recently, getting into gardening.
A Personal Story That Inspired Our Mission
In 2017, my husband was critically injured in a workplace accident. I still remember the moment I received the call—my heart raced, fear took over, and life shifted in an instant. When I arrived at the hospital, he was conscious but in excruciating pain, surrounded by machines and a team of doctors and nurses doing everything they could. The days after Jeff’s surgery were filled with sleepless nights and overwhelming emotions—fear, anger, and a deep sense of helplessness.
Seeing Jeff in a coma was, and still is, the most painful experience of my life. As he slowly began the long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally, I started to truly understand how far-reaching the effects of workplace accidents are. It wasn’t just Jeff who was affected—it was our entire family, our friends, and the life we had built together. One thought kept repeating in my mind: this didn’t have to happen.
That moment changed me. It sparked a passion to build something meaningful—a Health & Safety program that goes beyond meeting requirements. For me, safety is personal. It’s about creating a culture where every worker is valued, every risk is taken seriously, and no one has to receive the kind of call I did. This mission is about protecting lives, preserving futures, and making sure no family goes through what ours did.
